  4. Having been away from the office for a few days, I didn't
  5. read your letter of May 19th until today.

  7. While I am sure the young man you wrote to me about
  8. wouldn't warrant the recommendation you gave unless he is
  9. truly exceptional, I believe it would be unfair to him to
  10. set up an interview at this time.

  12. We have just had to lay off twenty four employees and there
  13. is no way that I could justify hiring someone new under
  14. those circumstances.  We anticipate that business should
  15. improve over the next six months, but for now, the timing
  16. is off.

  18. I am sorry to have to disappoint you.  You know, under the
  19. right circumstances, we are always looking for bright young
  20. people with potential.
